Fall Edit: Fragrance & Body Essentials

These are the Fall & Winter scents that will give you that rich and luxurious feel while keeping your skin soft and hydrated.

One of the first or last things (depending on you how you get ready), that people should be putting on while getting ready is your body butters, oils, and fragrances. It’s one of those sensory ways of matching your outfit with your vibe converted into fragrance form. And if there is one thing I love getting complimented on (other than my outfit) it’s “wow you smell so good”!

So let’s end this Fall Edit with those sensory scents that bring the dark, cozy, sweetly spiced, and warm vibes to the front.

Cozy, Dark, and Sweet Fragrances

From the bone chilling cold and crisp windy mornings, most of us tend to go for the warmer scents when it comes to fragrance’s around this time of year. Rather it’s a musky sweet, warm florals, or intriguing gourmands it’s the heavier scents that are highlighted the most to contrast the cold.

I am of the mindset that I also typically go for those scents as well. Anything that helps me get motivated to bundle up and brave the cold! Anything that makes me feel uplifted, bold, or sexy is always very much my vibe. And just like my thought process in picking out an outfit, I draw from an emotional energy to pick out my scent vibe of that day.

So these scents are definitely that or if you just want a cuddle up or woodier scent these ones are sure to give you those vibes too!

Unisex, Smoky, and Clean Fragrances

This category is for my gender fluid aesthetic edgy baddies, that fragrance mixologist, or someone who just loves smelling clean year around, this category is for you darling!

No matter the season a fresh or unique scent is not just a way to bring on the compliments, but can really define your as an individual too. Especially if it is an undertone to a more smokier or earthy scent profile.

Great for the individual who is not too thrilled with smelling like a pastry or necessarily fresh from the fruit market. Think more earthy like lavender or ceder wood, spiced like cardamom’s or sage’s, and crisp like rosemary or even a warm oud wood.

Fragrance Oils

An underrated category that I believe will be discussed more this year is fragrances oils. Fragrance oils are perfect for you if you consider yourself sensitive to fragrances or the alcohol generally prominent in fragrances. If you are wanting something that molds to the skin and holds a range of consistently projected or softly prominent scent.

Now a fragrance or perfumed oils, are a category you really have to see how it vibes with your natural scent not just when you are dry but especially when you are freshly from the shower. Most people actually put on their fragrances oils fresh out the shower (not dryed off) because the oil soaks into your skin and create a beautiful hydrated consistency with the dry down of the oil to your skin.

So this category is definitly trial and error especially if your not sure what scents you like yet. But that’s ok as there is many brands out there to try and in various scent profiles. You can bet your going to find the one that speaks just right to you.

My advice (like most of my suggestions), is to look at you body wash’s and mists. Read their notes and compare those products scent profiles to fragrance oils you are considering. The scent profiles will be similar to what you already are gravitating to naturally. Plus this way you know you can combine your oils with your fragrances or body mists, and they will meld beautifully together.

Body Butters & Lotions

Although I feel like this category is self explanatory, I wanted to add this in because A) it’s cold as I don’t know what out here and that means everyone is more likely to be extra dry and B) I love staying super hydrated throughout the year.

I generally am more of a body butter girl versus a lotion girl, due to the concentrated oil and natural butter blends in the body butters. Excess oils help fragrances last longer on our skin and increase your fragrance projection as well.

So if you are wanting to find a new body butter or lotion scent or want to try some ways to extend your fragrance on your skin, try some of these luxurious and feel good products.

And that is the conclusion to the Fall Edit series! I personally love all the categories but loved ending this on a fragrance and skin TLC note!

There is just something about putting into motion your day with a scent and lathering your body up with some body butter. Smelling good and feeling good go beautifully with looking good!

Was there a favorite category that spoke to you? Or was there something you learned in each one?

I’ll see you in the next post!
