My Unexpected Fragrance Combinations for 2024
Top 5 Fragrance Combinations for Someone Who Wants to Be Surrounded with the Unexpected
Other than thinking of fire outfit ideas or obsessing over my next fashion piece, creating fragrance combinations is one of my favorite activities. Fragrances have been my other must have accessory before my jewelry to finish off every single fit. Just knowing I look good and smell good immediately raises my dopamine levels to be able to take on the day. Especially on those rough days when I need the extra pick me up.
When it comes to fragrances, I tend to go for very sexy, warm, alluring scents with a hint of sweetness. Yet sometimes when I want something lighter I’ll lean towards bright clean scents, that may have a citrus or herby twist to it.
Below are some of my favorite combinations I have come up with and tried out. I generally know immediately when I love a fragrance combo. Mainly because I become so into it I can't get enough of it! So here are some of my obsessions I have worn for anywhere between 2 weeks or a month straight. Just like putting my makeup to the test I like to try out my scents for a while to really gauge how well it works for me and my lifestyle.
And like any fragrance, just because it works best on me, you should always try it before you buy! So make sure you test it for yourself.
Tom Ford Eau D’Ombre Leather Eau de Toilette & Versace Crystal Noir Eau de Parfum
Fragrance Profile: Warm | Spicy | Sweet
Notes:
Tom Ford Eau D’Ombré Leather (EDT): Opens warmly with warm Ginger, Coriander, Cardamom and smoothed out with Vanilla and Leather.
Versace Crystal Noir (EDP): This fragrance kicks off with Cardamom, Pepper, Ginger and lingers warmly with an Amber, Sandalwood, and Musky Base.
When I want something mysterious and intriguing with a sensual linger I go for this combo right here. I love the balance of lightly drawn out leather with the floral spice of cardamom and incense from Tom Ford’s Eau D’ombre with Versace’s Crystal Noir. The juxtaposition of warm, sweet, spicy, and a hint of floral is great if you're looking for some alluring and different.
Valentino The Gold Women’s & YSL Libre Le Parfum
Fragrance Profile: Fruity | Floral | Exotic
Notes:
Valentino Rendezvous The Gold: This juicy solar floral yet fruity fragrance brings together the Italian Mandarin, Gardenia Accord, with a Solar Coconut Accord to bring a bright & feminine fragrance.
YSL Libre Le Parfum: A warm and exotic spicy fragrance developed with Lavender, Orange Blossom, with the depth of Saffron.
Softly bright and juicy with an Ambery sexy edge, the limited edition Valentino Rendezvous The Gold mixed with YSL Libre Le Parfum is the scent when you want a sophisticated, confident, and warm scent all in one spray. Of all the Libre options created by YSL, this one was the one I was immediately drawn to. With the depth of saffron mixed with the bright juicy floral essence in the Valentino Gold this scent is juicy and addicting with every whiff.
Thomas Kosmala Neon No. 4 & Tom Ford Beau de Jour
Fragrance Profile: Bitter | Tropical Fruity | Powdery | Earthy | Floral
Notes:
Thomas Kosmala Neon No. 4: A tart and juicy zing has this fragrance opening with tart Pomelo, Mandarin Orange, leading into sweet Mango with Melon, and lingering with Solar & Ozonic notes for brightness.
Tom For Beau de Jour: This powdery floral experience brings you Lavender and Floral Green Geranium balancing a Leathery Oakmoss, and is all supported with warm Patchouli and Amber.
Now this scent combination is one of my most complex mixes. And I will also admit it is definitely not going to be for everyone. However, it is great if you are into variety of unique earthy profile scents with fruit or even fresh powdery undertone. This scent combines a bitter yet sweet heaviness of Neon No, 4 by Thomas Kosmala balanced with the airy earthy-powder floral of Tom Ford Beau de Jour in such an unexpected yet unique combination.
Now I will not lie to you. Beau de Jour, does give a chic freshly shaven Uncle vibe for sure (once you have smelled it you’ll know what I mean). However, I implore you to smell them together (one scent per blotter card). Then if it smells to your liking, see how it smells on you, you might be surprised at what your skin reveals!
Lancôme La Vie Est Belle L’Elixir & Tom Ford Eau D’Ombre Leather Eau de Toilette
Fragrance Profile: Gourmand | Fruity | Spicy
Notes:
Lancôme La Vie Est Belle L’Elixir: This bold and captivatingly decadent fragrance ties in Rasberry, luxurious Violet Leaf, and warm buttery Cocoa Butter.
Tom Ford Eau D’Ombre Leather Eau de Toilette: Opens warmly with warm Ginger, Coriander, Cardamom and is smoothed out with Vanilla and Leather.
Lancôme has truly turned me into both a gourmand and floral scent lover. Their newest fragrance La Vie Est Belle L’Elixir, is a boldly fruity gourmand fragrance that stands out all on its own. But balances beautifully with the subtle spiced sweetness of Tom Ford Eau D’Ombre Leather. I think my favorite thing about this combination is how both scents bring out something truly different in each other. The powerful and bold fragrance of Lancome’s L'Elixir, brings out a smooth and softness of the leathery edge from Eau D’Ombre Leather. While Tom Ford’s D’Ombre Leather tones down the L’Elixir to be a smoldering version of itself. When I want to feel mysterious, playful, and like anything can happen in the best way possible I bring out this scent.
YSL Myself Le Parfum & YSL Black Opium Over Red
Fragrance Profile: Smokey | Floral| Fruity
Notes:
YSL Myself Le Parfum: This woody-floral spicy fragrance opens with rich Vanilla Bourbon, Orange Blossom, Black Pepper, and is rounded out with Amber with an additional velvety Vanilla Bourbon edge.
YSL Black Opium Over Red: This sensually hypnotic fragrance ties Coffee, Vanilla, Jasmine and juicy Cherry Accord for a rich and sexy smooth fruity floral scent.
By far one of my sexy scent combinations combines my all time favorite scent’s YSL Black Opium. Now unlike my forever love of the original, this combination includes the newest addition of Black Opium, Eau de Parfum Over Red. This sexy cherry and coffee vanilla combination with the smoky unisex depth of YSL Myself Le Parfum is just everything. Despite all of my combined scents in this list, I am typically not a fruity fragrance girl. My only exception is when there is a level of woodiness, oud, or exotic spice then I am bound to fall in love. If you are wanting to be a walking contradiction of juicy sweet, smokey, yet floral then I definitely suggest giving this combo a try.
I will not hold you guys, these combinations are probably only 10% of the combinations I have made. But when I thought of all the creations I’ve made this year, these were either the ones I just could not get enough of or the ones people would tell me every time they knew it was me just by smell alone. Other than a compliment on my fit, someone telling me I smell good is one of the best compliments out there.
Let me know how your scent adventures goes, and if you tried any of my combinations. How did it work out? Did you swap out a scent with something else?
I’ll see you in the comments!
