Top 8 Most Researched Fashion Bags in 2024
From Prada’s Buckle Bag, Bottega’s Arco Bag, & The Row’s Margaux these are the most obsessed bags of the year.
In previous seasons the Micro Mini bags were dominating our fashion eyes to the point where it became its own accessory on another bag. But 2024 was all about the bigger bags, more pockets, more personalization with chains & charms, and the return of the luxury suede.
The pendelum of fashion continues to swing and although bags like the hobo are coming back into play, an added luxury of leathers, burnt leathers, and various saturation of colors of dark navy’s, burgandy’s, chartruese, and browns.
As we enter the last stretch of 2024, below are the bags that dominated of the fashion research across the internet along with their equally sought out twin, their dupes!
Prada Large Buckle Belt Bag
During the beginning of the season when emphasizing belt designs and double layering was huge, the Prada Buckle Bag was one of the accessories that brought that trend out. With a beautiful structured shape in buttery leather with a shape that was similar to the Hermés bag.
Such a bag design as this buckle bag also tied into the tote trend of going the bigger bag route while also appealing to a more streamlined option. Great if you want a sleek look that will still hold a bit of room whatever you need. And it’s dupe version from Fashion Nova in a very similar vibe gives the same aesthetic in a wallet loving price!
Gucci Diana Small Tote Bag
One of the iconic design pieces of Gucci’s has to be that beautiful Bamboo handle that was first introduced in 1991. The handle is an earthy, structured, and elegant piece to any bag design the house has. Combined with the more compact minimal yet structured appeal within the Diana small tote you are getting all that and the Italian sophistication in one. This bag comes in a plethora of colorways and although titled as small, this tote is definitely packing with more than enough room for any on the go elevated fashion lover. And I think the fact that you can have it with the iconic striped strap and white leather option is a plus.
With the Italian chic aesthetic this bag gives, both Guess and DSW’s handbags bring that in their bags above too. I am particularly obsessed with the Sibel Bamboo Handle Satchel by Guess!
Bottega Veneta Medium Arco Bag
I recently saw Alyssa Lenore trying this bag on in her LA vlog recently and had to get a closer look (online of course)! I love the expanded version of the iconic Intreccio weave known by Bottega Veneta displayed in this bag! And many people are also loving it in the suede type, east west, small, and candy version. Based on the popular size of bigger bags though, it seems the medium size is one of the popular preference. If you are into the bigger tote trend but want a more structure type than the popular hobo or looser designed bag this one definitely fits!
And as far as dupes go there are several that bring the aesthetic and design from Amazon and Asos.
Miu Mui Nappa Leather Hobo
Speaking of Hobo, this Miu Miu Nappa Hobo Bag had all the girl’s in a tizzy after the cargo pocket shoulder bag. The loosely structured oval shape with a popular worn even burned leather gives this edgy worn look that Miu Miu has done well. And the seamless debossed logo still plays into minimal logo trend as well. If you are looking for an edgier minimal bag that is just the right amount of bohemian to it then she is for you.
Next bags from Songmont and Maniére De Voir give Miu Miu in the design and in more structure as another option!
JW Anderson’s Corner Leather Bucket Bag
Another minimal logo-less design with a modern boho edge to a bag. The JW Anderson Corner Leather Bucket Bag is both angular, seamless, and structured at the same time. And the addition of the silver accent brings a slight shine to the more matte leather that the designer bag is smoothed in. It’s slickness and minimal edge is why this design has been so popular.
I am more of a gold girl myself but the silver adds a more toned down version to the bag that does add to the aesthetic. However, I am very into it’s sleek leather second cousin of a dupe over at Zara! The shine of the leather does not take from the aesthetic, and if anything it adds to it’s sleekness. The J.Crew version is a bit of an between in sleekness but does add a bit more of size than the first two. All three are beautiful bags regardless though!
Prada’s East West Medium Leather Bag
If you are obsessed with bags like me then you already know the east west bag bag style has been popular since the end of last year. I have my eye on a particular one from Brahmin that is such a beauty! But I first saw this Prada bag on Kirah Ominique on her recent vlog in London, & this East West Medium Leather from Prada is another fabulous fierce bag. In this design Prada ties in the buckle trend along with the slick thinner silhouette seen by Alaïa Le Teckel bag and even the re-emergence of the vintage Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Triangle bag . I think the smaller belt and leaner bag leads to a more compact silhouette. It is a great seemingly small bag with a lot of room.
Now these dupe’s are not anything to snuff at either. This burgundy bag from Aldo is beyond chic and so similar to the Prada version but in a smoother version. And if you are looking into a less shiny and more slim design Mango has got you covered too! Adding more of that edgier flair that both the Prada East West and even the Louis Vuitton Epi Leather has in there designs.
The Row’s Margaux 17 Suede Buckle Bag
Now this list is not and can not be complete without mentioning the Margaux 17 Buckled Suede Large Bag from The Row. I believe because of this bag in addition to the bohemian trend cycling back through is why suede has been on everyone’s mind going into the fall and winter season. Between the increase in demand of suede bags and the popular Margaux 17 here is for sure one of the top culprits.
I tend to gravitate towards more bolder prints or designs and richly in colored, types of bags but I'm gonna be honest and say I am not mad at what the Margaux bag has brought to the table. Although in overall quieter aesthetic, It checks all the box’s of the current zeitgeist. The big tote shape, the logo-less design, and this less structured yet chic aesthetic it brings to any outfit has its pluses as well.
I found some beautifully similar aesthetics in a suede, leather, and slightly suede dupe options! The tote from Soera is an identical aesthetic to The Row’s original design. While the Coach Empire and Target’s version bring you that big bag energy in their own similar ways.
STAUD Bean Bag
Now the Bean Bag from Staud emphasizes the lean clutch trend that is also circulating but with a ruched addition. Great if you are a lover of a good clutch bag but in a less bulky and more versatile version. As the Staud version comes with the wristlet and cross body strap which is more than your standard chic clutch generally offers. Staud has a variety of design variations including this adorable celestial bean bag vibe in various textiles and shapes. Perfect for a celestial witchy energy.
There is a less rounded but no less cuter version from the Couch Outlet’s Faye shoulder bag which gives just the right aesthetic and a fraction of the price.
I love doing posts that commemorate the yearly fashion zeitgeist, just because it is fun to look back in a few years and see what has come back around or is soon to be coming back. Let me know your thoughts! Are some or a few in your closet?
See You Next Time,
