Some of the things I love about fashion shows is how creative thought is manifested into these gorgeous pieces that are familiar and new at the same time.

I love the energy and design that comes from every designer. And Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) is one of those fashion weeks that always give me that!

After Couture Fashion Week, I am always anticipating what Copenhagen will show. Mainly because model inclusivity is truly shown (true representation here honey!), the Vlogs on YouTube after this fashion show are also fire to consume, plus the energy overall is calm yet exciting, and just optimistic. And as an added bonus all of the brands have to pass the CPHFW’s 6 areas of sustainability requirements in order to even have their name on the fashion weeks lineup to showcase.

If you want to learn more about their sustainability guidelines that is changing the standards for European Fashion Showcases check it out here.

Give me Fashion variety, newness, and sustainability guidlines’s that’s actually enforced? I am here for it!

This year was nothing short of exciting and I definitely caught some threads of styles that will indicate what you may see popping up in our favorite stores and on our favorite content creators!

The Trends

Style Mixing

From Mesh combined with Ruched styles, to different animal print pairings, mixing classic patterns and styles up is definitly in the forecast! Styles like mesh, ruched, and sheer has been prevalent in the fashion zeitgeist and in our closets. So that may not be new but expect a flair of the unexpected while shopping.

Rather it is combined at an angle across the body, layered in a new way, or bringing a variety of patterns to be in one cohesive look. Take the first look from OpéraSport as an example.

This look combines ruffles, ruching, and playing with soft and sharp lines in the top. All elements are combined to create a curvaceous and soft movement that highlights the waist, hips, and making that décolletage pop.

Shimmer & Textures

If you are a texture lover in your fashion then you are probably enjoying what has been coming out of late! Although this is Spring Summer 2025, florals and shimmer are coming into full affect even in our fall wardrobes with tweak that reimagines those textures in fun ways.

From floral embossed to de-bossed on leather, voluminous floral appliqués, to water like shimmer embellishments, and edgy wash patterns are  textures we will see for the upcoming fashion seasons. You will also see  variations of midi or relaxed maxi skirts going into this fashion season. Most of which will be figure slimming that skims the bodies natural outline.

Emphasizing that Waist

If you are a fan of emphasizing that waist that has stayed prevalent from last season, from brands like AREA, Jean Paul Gaultier, and anything nodding to Dior’s New Look then you are in for a treat!

Emphasizing that snatched waist has always been a favorite silhouette for decades, and brands at CPHFW are keeping that in the fashion forefront. From buttery leather corsets over flowy sheer dresses, to loose 80s whimsical moments, or sexy edgy denim styles defining that waist isn’t going anywhere in 2025.

Playful Stripes

I don’t know about you but stripes are everywhere and you can see that heavily on the runway.

Classic patterns have always been a constant in our fashion wardrobes from plaids, polka dotes, to even cheetah print. And stripes are no different! This season stripes are circulating with more color ways and mixed together to create a new twist on stripes.

From your thrifted precious finds, or from your hunt in the men’s department, stripes may already be in your wardrobe. So consider pairing your stripes in new ways!

Rather that is with contrasting colors, varying thickness in stripes, or other types of styles.

Definitely expect to see more stripes that are blended it different ways for the fashion season!

Interesting Silhouettes

I for one love when a piece just gives different. Sometimes it’s something I don’t usual see, appears to be a twist on a classic, or just something I wouldn’t normally try but makes me want to anyway!

When I saw these on the runway it ticked some or all of those boxes for me. Many fashion perspectives outside of western thought tend to make me rethink shapes and lines and Copenhagen also highlighted this beautifully!

From pairing up a halter style top with bubble skirt with stripes, new ways to mix my prints, restyling a corset, or pairing up your essentials with unconventional textures.

So those are some of the common threads I noticed from Copenhagen forecasted for this upcoming fashion season! Are there certain trends you already explore or something you can’t wait to try?

Next up I’ll do a highlighted review of New York Fashion Week!

Until Next Week!
