Bags Galore: The Top Bag Styles and Designs and Where to Get Them
East West, New Fringe Styles, Hobo Modern, and Archive Pieces Still Reigning Supreme
Among the many things I can’t get my fashion mind to calm down about is the bags popping out this season. In an industry where styles and designs are available on hyper speed I find myself excited to try new shapes and textures that are nostalgic yet new. Rather it’s the 70s laid back yet chic energy, beaded night clutches dazzling in the light, or intriguing new shapes that continue to remind us to be playful and have fun with expressing ourselves, there is no end to the style creativity.
Bags this season are taking on an intriguing shape and putting a twist on traditional silhouettes. I know I am definitely eyeing a couple of pieces with silhouettes on the list! So let’s dive into the fabulousness.
East West
One of my personal favorite categories that just won’t quite is the East West style bag. Any East West Style is going to stay a style obsession in 2025. Not only is the bag typically lean but in some cases, still has a plethora of space for your essentials plus some. My favorites are coming in calf hair, glossy leathers, different patterns, and adding some of the other details below to create an intriguing style. Perfect for solo dates, friend meet ups, date night, or errand runs!

Fringe Detail
Fringe this year is to my fashion brain like butter and biscuits with the Boho 2.0 trend. Especially with the resurgence of 70s vibes and the romantic boho aesthetic. This year though, fringe is going to be all over our accessories including bags in a variety of aesthetics! From the more casually elevated fashion styles to the more posh or as the newest trend is intentional minimalism fringe is bound to be in some type of accessory that fits. What I love about this trend is the ease of movement and flow that can be added to even the most structured of bags. Rather it is a modernized hobo tote style, a shmediam cross body, or edgy micro piece, fringe adds that extraness to any piece.

Textured Calf & Pony Hair
The emphasis of texture as staying in your pieces has been a note repeated through fashion time, and the addition of calf & pony hair really brings that to the forefront. Having this softy and shiny texture on your bags this season has been making a splash in the accessories space since last year and is showing no signs of stopping in 2025. Other than the fabulous traditional animal prints and color ways that most hair like bags come in, this season is about bold colors, bolder animal color ways, and intriguing ways of designing with calf hair. Rather it is long or short strands, real or faux, textured calf or pony hair just adds that luxe factor to any piece and any fit.

Structured Totes & Unique Shapes
I feel like the new saying when it comes to larger bags should be “take up ,or space with a fabulously big bag”. May not be the smoothest saying but it gets the vibes across! Large bags have always come and go in fashion years depending on the fashion zeitgeist and the priorities of those times. However large totes are still holding on this season in the fashion limelight but with a definitive twist. From the hobo style, structured chic, edgy embellishments, and intriguing design aspects. I for one am not a huge hobo or structurless bag girlie, but the unique shapes and structures have caught my fashion attention! Rather you want a bag that makes a statement, an elevated everyday commuter, a travel tote bestie, or an playful statement piece any tote this season with be giving you the necessary things plus the right energy to match.

Retro Shapes
Has anyone else been feeling the retro and antique vibes of the 20s to 60s knocking on our fashion door? I for one have been seeing it everywhere and our bags are included! From retrofuturist coin purse designs, leveled up clutch styles, retro structured shapes, and foldable totes. And if that’s not enough intrigue, look out for more beaded designs, feathers, and glittery fringe to bring out more uniqueness. If you’re wanting to add a bit of intrigue this season consider adding more retro shapes to make your accessories pop!

Belted Designs
The addition of belts in various ways to accessories was really having a moment with the popularity of streetwear and utilitarian style designs 6 years ago. Now belts are still in effect as an extra archival spin and with a sleeker, layered, or more front and center as the statement design. Belts designs on are favorite accessories as a level of edge to any bag style and go hand-in-hand with any other paired details. From thin or chunky belts with chains, suede, woven, or with pockets, there is an abundance of options when it comes to belted bags. Another cross over style of the Y2K/2000s, edgy, and street vibes embedded into accessories.

Slouched
Slouched bags are rising just as much as intriguing structured bags. If you like easy, throw and go vibes, or just chic and chill then a slouched or ruched bag is for you. Perfect if your style aligns with the 70s aesthetic, Bohomien Romance, or enjoying the Boho 2.0 approach, the slouched approach to accessories may already be in your closet. The slouched style is in everything from your large leather totes, suede bags, medium sized cross bodies, to even everyday or evening clutches. Really great if you want to have more casual, or intriguing texture element to any look.

Alright loves, that is a list of some of the bags I find my eyes catching multiples of in these fashion streets! Are there any styles you yourself are going to try or bring out from your fashion archive’s?
Until Next Time,
Xo,
